So, Erik ten Hag’s dismissal as Man Utd’s manager wasn’t a surprise.
The unlucky defeat at West Ham yesterday had forced the board’s hand. Despite winning the FA Cup last season, ten Hag has been unable to improve the team’s performances, hence their 14th position in the Premier League table this season and a poor showing in the Europa League cup so far. Ten Hag joins the list of former managers who have failed to find sustained success since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
- David Moyes
- Ryan Giggs (caretaker)
- Louis van Gaal
- Jose Mourinho
- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
- Michael Carrick (caretaker)
- Ralf Rangnick (caretaker)
- Erik ten Hag
